A workhorse knife with a strong taper, featuring an edge made of highly wear-resistant PM steel 1.3253, side layers made of rust-sluggish steel 1.4034 and a handle made of desert ironwood. Lire plus..
This 24 cm workhorse has a very strong taper and a complex geometry. The blade is made with "Walkschliff". In the coil area, the blade has is strongly convex and the greatest blade thickness is about two-thirds the blade height. The convexity decreases further towards the tip and the largest blade thickness moves further towards the back of the blade. The tip is ground thin. As a result, the blade has very high cutting abilities in the front two-thirds and has a very strong wedge effect in the coil area.
The knife is equally suitable for all cutting techniques.
The cutting edge is made of highly wear-resistant PM steel 1.3253 with a hardness of 65 HRC. The side layers are made of hardenable stainless steel 1.4034, which, due to the high tempering temperature required for PM steel, can only be described as rust-sluggish.
The Japanese handle is made of desert ironwood with a spacer of stabilized maple and white fiber.
